WhatsApp is the most popular messaging app in the world and everybody who uses it knows how it works, right? Well, that’s only half-true. This chat service has numerous features and characteristics, so many that sometimes they’re hidden behind the more striking aspects of the app (voice messages, emojis, group chats…).
Today I’ll list 11 WhatsApp features that are somewhat hidden but worth knowing about… They’ll help you get the most out of the app!
11 hidden WhatsApp features you should know about
We all use WhatsApp but… do we make the most of it? We’re bringing you 11 options that aren’t so visible in the app but are truly useful if you chat regularly.
1 Save convo sentences to Favorites
Hold your finger over the sentences you want to save and tap the star that appears. They’ll be saved in the main menu. To access them, tap “Starred messages.”
2 Cancel a voice message
What if in the middle of recording an audio message, you regret what you’re saying? Just slide your finger to the left and the message won’t be recorded or sent to the recipient.
3 Send messages faster
Save time by having your messages send when you tap the “Enter” key. To do this, go to “Settings” in the main menu, then to “Chats” and activate the “Enter to send” option.
4 Create shortcuts to your favorite chats
Chat with some friends all the time? Create a convo icon that appears on your phone’s home screen. To do this, go to the settings of that conversation, tap “More” and then “Create shortcut.” Voilà! Shortcut created, now you can get to it like any other app icon.
5 Send the same message to multiple recipients at once
From the main menu, find “New broadcast” among the options. Select all the recipients you want and now you can send them all the messages you wish: it’s not a group, they’ll receive them separately.

My first computer was an Amstrad CPC 6128 and so began my love for gadgets. Besides tech and games I love music (I'm a singer in two bands of swing, jazz and blues), cinema (watching and writing about it), gastronomy (cooking... but above all eating!) and alternative fashion. Do you follow the cult of The Rocky Horror Picture Show? Great, I'm sure we can get along.
